160 countries expected to sign the Paris Agreement

Heads of State, François Hollande, the Deputy Prime Minister of China, Canadian Prime Minister, the Secretary of USA will be present Friday, April 22 in New York for the occasion.

In the program

  • 8:30 to 9:30: opening ceremony, chaired by the UNSG, the President of the French Republic François Hollande and the Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC Christiana Figueres.
  • 9:30 am to 6:00 pm: successive signatures of representatives of state and national declarations.
  • 3:00 am to 6:00 pm: High-level event on the Agenda of the action, co-chaired by the President of the COP Ségolène Royal and the Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC Christiana Figueres. Three sequences are provided about: virtuous circles ambitions, access to sustainable energy (especially in Africa), and resilience.
  • 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm: Closing of the Paris Agreement signing ceremony with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon, President of the COP Ségolène Royal and the future president of the COP22 Salaheddine Mezouar.
